Yonex VCORE 98

The VCORE 98 is suitable for strong intermediates and experienced players who need a racquet to provide fantastic control and precision with the ability to deliver on aggressive spin. This racquet is slightly easier to handle than the VCORE 95 and so will appeal to a wider range of players.
The headsize of 98 square inches is on the smaller side of average and will provide players with a control-oriented response that should satisfy experienced players consistent in hitting with a smaller sweet spot. The weight of the frame is 10.8 ounces and being on the heavier side of average it will provide players with a very stable feel, great for big swings and redirecting fast-paced volleys. It’s head light balance means that it will maintain great maneuverability, great for fast movement to enable quick reactions and heavy spin. The open string pattern will enable greater spin potential and additional power. The racquet’s frame has been slightly thickened from the previous edition which improves the frame’s stability and power generation.
In this generation, Yonex has added Flex Force, a graphite material incorporated in the upper throat to the lower frame to improve snapback of the racquet for improved spin generation. The design process for the frame has also considered its aerodynamics and has been molded to reduce air resistance which will enable easier maneuverability and as a result increased spin potential. The grommet system has been redesigned with String Sync Grommets which similarly improved movement of the strings and consequently improves snapback for greater ball bite and spin potential. The racquet’s grip has a Vibration Dampening Mesh wrapped around the handle to improve comfort. As usual, the VCORE racquet series hoop is designed using Yonex’s signature Isometric head shape so it benefits from a forgiving sweet spot for increased power without sacrificing the racquet’s control.
Yonex has kept much of the previous VCORE 98 intact, while improving on the maximum spin potential. This racquet will satisfy experienced players who need exceptional control with outstanding spin potential for an aggressive full court game.
